Gippo [gi:'po]

Dashboard GPS and MP3 player - minimal hardware requirements.

Warning: Although Gippo is designed to be used in a car please take care and keep your eyes on the road!


What do you need to run it:
HW: At least P-90 notebook with sound, GPS receiver (broken screen is fine), hands and some patience.
SW: Svgalib, Perl + Inline, C compiler probably.

There are two components:
  • GPSD - gps daemon with /proc - like interface. Makes it really simple to read GPS data.
  • Gippo itself. GUI etc. Perl | Inline | C++ | svgalib.
